Talent Analysis
Murray has good speed and great skating balance and maneuverability. Adept at finding the seams in a defense, Murray can carry the puck from goal-line to goal-line, displaying speed and stickhandling, and finish the play with an accurate shot and quick wrists. A smallish forward that overcomes his height with a tremendous offensive up-side to his game.
Future
Still too early to project whether and what role Murray might play with the NHL club. The son of a coach and consistent invitee to the Kings' prospect camps over the years play favorably for his future as he is already accustomed to matching up against bigger and better competition. Has proven that he can score at any level.

hab hier noch einen interessanten artikel gefunden:
UND MEN'S HOCKEY: Murray to leave UND to play pro
UND lost one of its brightest hockey stars Friday when Brady Murray announced that he is leaving UND to play pro hockey in Switzerland.
Murray, a sophomore at UND last season who battled through knee and shoulder injuries much of the year, has signed a one-year contract with an option year with Rapperswil of the Swiss Elite professional league.
It'll be a homecoming of sorts for Murray, a Brandon, Man., native who lived in Switzerland when he was 3, when his father, Andy, coached hockey there.
By having a Swiss youth player pass issued to him at that, Murray qualifies to be a non-import player with Rapperswil. That's a loophole that is being closed by the league, forcing Murray's hand to make a decision now.
Since each team in the Swiss Elite league is allowed just five import players, the fact that a player of Murray's caliber can be brought in as a non-import makes him a very attractive addition.
Though Murray would not disclose the dollar amount of his contract, sources indicate his one-year contract to be in the $300,000 to $400,000 range, in addition to use of a car and an apartment.
His Swiss youth player pass was the key to the offer to play in Switzerland. "Nobody I know of in college hockey has that (player pass)," Murray said. "They're going to change the rule, so if I had stayed in college another year, this opportunity wouldn't be available to me," Murray said.
Murray, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the year in 2004, will bypass his final two years of eligibility with the Fighting Sioux.
In two years with UND, Murray averaged more than a point a game. He played in 62 games and finishes with 27 goals and 39 assists for 66 points, 46 of them coming his rookie season.
His loss is a big one for UND, which reached the championship game of the NCAA Frozen Four last month before losing to Denver University.
"He would have been one of the most exciting and dynamic players to watch in college hockey next season," UND coach Dave Hakstol said. "But he and his family had a difficult decision to make. After examining all sides of it, they decided this was the best for Brady. We wish him all the best."
It's a non-traditional move for a player to make. A year ago, UND players Zach Parise and Brandon Bochenski gave up their remaining college eligibility to sign pro contracts with NHL teams prior to the work stoppage that shut down the 2004-05 NHL season. They did that before the league was shut down, thereby signing more lucrative contracts than would have been available now.
It's a similar situation for Murray, who would not have the option to sign with the Swiss Elite league as a non-import after this year.
"I want to play pro hockey, and this gives me the opportunity to do that," Murray said. "Playing pro hockey has always been my goal. It's what I want to do."
The loss of top underclassmen is part of the picture when you recruit and coach at a top college hockey school, Hakstol said. "Good players bring more good players," he said.
Murray said the knee and shoulder injuries last season that limited him to 25 games and finished with season-ending shoulder surgery late in the season, had nothing to do with his decision to sign with Rapperswil.
"It seemed like I spent more time last season on the stationary bike than on the ice," Murray said. "It was frustrating, but I was very proud of the way the guys finished the season, though it was tough just to watch."
Murray, whose NHL rights belong to the Los Angeles Kings, who are coached by his father, Andy, said his ultimate goal is to play in the NHL.
He said after next year in Rapperswil, he will evaluate his progress and decide then whether to return for a second year or pursue pro hockey options in the NHL or perhaps the American Hockey League.
Murray said he will fly to Switzerland on Sept. 25, for a 40-game season that runs through the end of February.
Sioux notes: Hakstol said that T.J. Oshie, an all-state forward who was the top scorer in the state last season in leading Warroad High School to the Class A state championship, will play for UND next season. Originally, the thoughts were for Oshie to play a developmental season in the United States Hockey league first. Hakstol said, though, that the decision to bring Oshie in next season had nothing to do with Murray's departure, speaking more to Oshie's readiness to play at the college level. "The two items aren't related," Hakstol said ... . Sioux captain Matt Greene, who played with very sore infected elbow the last part of the season, has been cleared to resume workouts for the first time since the season ended. "That just show you what he battled through at the end of the year and what kind of a leader Matt Greene is for our team," Hakstol said.
